Dubai has relaxed its movement restrictions for the public after evaluations were made on imposed precautionary measures in the last 3 weeks. Now, residents do not require a Move permit in order to go out from 6am to 10pm starting Friday – April 24, 2020.

While there’s progress in the current situation, be advised that residents still need to practice safety measures such as wearing masks at all times and maintaining social distancing practices. Let’s all avoid being complacent and follow proper protocols.

New Rules and Guidelines on Ease in Movement Restrictions
Dubai has also announced rule changes on the restrictions in various sectors such as Transportation, Commercial & Retails, Offices and Businesses, Construction & Manufacturing. Below are some of the the notable updates in terms of ease in movement restrictions in Dubai:
- Dubai residents can go outside from 6am to 10pm for necessity without needing a movement permit
- No one is allowed outside from 10pm to 6am except for medical emergencies and for employees in vital sector.
- Malls reopen from 12pm to 10pm daily.
- Commercial outlets/retail shops open but only allowed to serve at maximum of 30% customer capacity.
- Everyone still required to wear a face mask, fine of AED 1000 when caught.
- Dubai Metro Train and Public Buses resume operations from April 26.
- Restaurants and cafes allowed to cater to dine-in customers at 30% capacity.
- Employees Allowed to go to office at 30% workforce capacity.
- Residents allowed to exercise outdoors but within area of residence up to 2 hours.
- Barber shops and salons are allowed to operate but only hair and nail services.

RTA Dubai has placed stickers in its facilities to help remind citizens about the social distancing rules on public transport. However, it is still up to the public to determine if these relax in restrictions will make an impact.
