UAE residents who are stuck abroad, there is some good news as Etihad Airways just posted a schedule of available flights to 12 destinations heading to Abu Dhabi.
The airline company is running special one-way flights from outside to the UAE and is meant for expats to book a flight and return home. The flight schedules for this month begin on May 9, 2020.
Please be advised that passengers of these flights should have the required documents available, which include a valid UAE residence visa and an ICA approval number.
Limited Passenger Flights for Expats Abroad to Return to UAE
Most of the flights that are operating in the UAE are outbound repatriation flights, so this recent update by the airlines is much welcomed as this gives an opportunity to those who are outside the UAE to come home.

- Amsterdam: 13, 15, 20, 22, 27 and 29 May
- Barcelona: 14, 17, 24 and 31 May
- Frankfurt: 17, 24 and 31 May
- Jakarta: 15 and 29 May
- Kuala Lumpur: 23 and 30 May
- London: 9, 13, 16, 20, 23, 27 and 30 May
- Manila: 13, 15, 16, 20, 22, 23, 27, 29 and 30 May
- Melbourne: 13, 20 and 27 May
- Seoul: 22 and 29 May
- Singapore: 20 and 27 May
- Tokyo: 20 and 27 May
- Toronto: 12 May
In order to book the above-mentioned flights, you first need to have a valid UAE residence visa.
Then, you should have an ICA approval number. You can have this by signing up for the UAE Twajudi Resident service by visiting MoFAIC.gov.ae. Go to this link – https://www.mofaic.gov.ae/en/Services/Twajudi-Resident
After getting an approved ICA number, you should contact the Etihad Airways Contact Centre to book your return flight. Contact Etihad by visiting this link – https://www.etihad.com/en/help/contact-us
Note: You must hold a valid UAE resident visa and ICA approval number.
Arriving residents will need to undergo a PCR and thermal test. Once they pass, they are required to undergo 14-day home quarantine.
