The UAE is reverting its National Sterilization hours back to the regular schedule pre-Ramadan season. The current schedule is from 10pm to 6am, but starting Wednesday – 20th May 2020, the new schedule will be from 8pm to 6am.
This announcement was made in a media briefing held by UAE authorities which discusses updates along with other updates
Residents Be Advised, UAE Announces Change in Timings of National Sterilization Program
Below are other rules that should be strictly implemented as per announcements:
- Food outlets, cooperative societies, groceries, supermarkets, and pharmacies continue to operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during the sterilization program period, which are excluded.
- A number of sales outlets, which include shops for meat, vegetables, fruits, toasters, mills, slaughterhouses, fish, coffee, tea, and nuts, sweets and chocolate shops, are allowed to operate from 6 am to 8 pm.
- The importance of all stores adhering to the applicable health and safety procedures.
- Taking into account that the percentage of shoppers does not exceed 30% of the total capacity, while maintaining the safe distance by “at least two meters” according to the principle of physical spacing, and to reduce congestion.
- Business centers are open from 9 am to 7 pm with the application of all precautions, procedures and precautions, and this timing applies from 27 Ramadan.
- Banning the entry of elderly persons over the age of sixty and children under 12 years of age into commercial centers, and warning the visitors of the centers that the shopping period should not exceed two hours.
