In a news announcement shared by the Roads and Transport Authority Dubai, the Dubai metro train and public buses will start resuming its operations after 3 weeks of being suspended due to the virus.
Starting April 26, 2020, the metro and train will begin operating again with a set schedule. All passengers are required to wear face masks at all times and adhere to safety precautions and physical distancing while commuting.
RTA Public Transport to Resume its Operations starting April 26 with Strict Safety Rules
The restoration of the public transport service was announced after a decision made by the Dubai Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management. Services will resume at their normal fare rates and passengers are required to observe preventive measures
The timings of the metro train as mentioned will be:
- 7am to 11pm on Saturdays to Thursdays
- 10am to 11pm on Fridays
Passengers are advised to continue physical distancing rules and to wear face masks in the metro train, buses and premises at all times.

Paid Parking to Resume
Also starting on 26th April, public parking will begin its paid parking service from 8am to 6pm and 8pm until 12 midnight.
RTA has taken all precautionary measures to ensure the safety of drivers and passengers. Buses and taxis are also sanitized daily, RTA said. The gradual resumption of these transit services is necessarily linked with public compliance with preventive measures in place. However any violations will not be tolerated.
RTA extended its wishes for good health and safety to commuters during this period.
