UAE is allowing the return of residents stranded abroad

The UAE allows the return of residents stranded outside the country. This is a much-welcome news to many expats who have been waiting for flights to return to the UAE. Expats who have valid UAE residence visas who are outside, you can return to the UAE beginning June 1.

This was confirmed in an announcement made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC) and the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA).

Many expats have been stuck abroad for 2 months and have been separated from their families since entry of valid residence visa holders have been suspended as part of the UAE’s precautionary measures.

The UAE allows the return of residents stranded outside the country

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC) and the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) announces that UAE residents currently abroad who hold a valid residence visa, can return to the country starting June1.

ICA calls on those holding valid residence visas and wishing to return to the UAE to register in the service titled ‘Residents’ Entry Permit’ on smartservices.ica.gov.ae.

In order for residents to return to the country, the authority advised holders of valid residence visas to register at ‘Entry Permit for Residents’ service at the authority website, smartservices.ica.gov.ae to facilitate their return.
